Unexpected 21st

21st indicates adulthood

an age where everyone makes a big deal out of it

because it somehow indicates we are matured and grown up adults

but I was never feeling the need of a celebration

not after I was being told I don't deserve celebrating my birthday if I didn't achieve anything that's worth celebrating it

therefore, never have I ever thought I would be celebrating my 21st

also not after me attending so many 21st birthday party in a year

being a December baby

my birthday is one of the last among most of my friends

that gives me extra reasons to not celebrate just for the sake of celebrating

throwing a birthday party just to celebrate my 21st no longer creates the value as how the older ones used to view it as

therefore I did not expect anything for my birthday as usual this year

but the best part about my 21st is when its organized by everyone else but myself

2 different occasions 2 different groups of my fave people 2 different experiences

first one is my high school peeps

the other one is my crazy uni peeps

my high school friends decided to come together to KL and made a huge surprise for me when I least expected it

especially my bbgs who came all the way from Singapore and Kampar for a day trip just to throw a birthday surprise

and my 2 other fave people who came all the way from Semenyih and Genting

they call it the "kidnap"

they kidnapped me all the way from uni

even after being told I had an afternoon class

guess the coolest part is when they still managed to find a way to kidnap me despite the afternoon class

partnered with one of my uni friend to get me out for lunch

and kidnap me from there and then

it wasn't easy to convince me

but they still managed to fucking surprised me

in fact, twice

first time was my baby girl

2nd time was my other friend appearing right in front of me out of no where

we hung out

had a good meal together

did some shopping

spent some really good time together

until they had to go back :(

few days later,

my uni friends threw a party for me exactly a week before finals

so that I can still have time to focus on my finals

they threw a crazy party

drinks, games, talks, dance

I had fun

lots of fun

at some point

I was looking at the entire space at the moment

and I really never expect I would be in that space

with everyone having fun celebrating my birthday for me

it gave me chills

and I knew they were keepers since that moment

so many emotions came rushing to me

but above all

I was really really happy

for once I felt that happiness so genuinely

and I'm really grateful for the effort to surprise me this way

and also to remember my birthday and make it a memorable one

now that I think of it once in awhile

it still put a smile on me

and I love that

at least it's definitely something I would remember for the rest of my life

crazy people, real fun

messy pictures, real memories

I live for these moments

and if you thought that was the end

obviously not

cause I had surprises 3 and 4 HAHA

and above all, the overwhelming love

guess who's never taking any of these for granted hehe
